“The cast gypsum board is a non-place (…) The feet – or rather, the holes – do not mark anything; they are ‘nowhere’ specifically. To stand becomes to float, free from all grounds. Still the gypsum board weighs more than an average man… Plaster is also the building and decorating material of the exhibition space in situ. The white reveals and exposes the light, just as the space does…” [In-zijn als zodanig, 1996] 

“De gipsplaat is een plek zonder plaats (…) De voeten – of liever de gaten – markeren niet, ze zijn eigenlijk nergens. Het staan is een zweven geworden, los van iedere grond. Hoewel de plaat hardgips ruim het gewicht van een volwassen persoon beslaat… Het gips is eveneens het materiaal waaruit de tentoonstellingswanden van de ruimte zijn opgebouwd. Het wit dat licht ten volle zichtbaar maakt, evenals de zaal dat doet…” [In-zijn als zodanig, 1996]
